Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other

 Romans 12:10

Diamond H Performance Horses began as a dream while I was just in high school. I was running a mare named Lucy (Roanhorse Rita) and she was the first horse I ever really “won” on. She was also the reason my faith began to grow and what brought me closer to Christ. I grew up going to church, but never felt a true relationship with God until I started running barrels. Lucy was 14 when we purchased her in 2017 and I convinced my parents that we absolutely had to have a foal out of her. I learned early on that breeding horses was tough. After years of trying we never were successful in getting a Lucy foal on the ground. I see now though that she did her job when she helped me fall in love with a sport that brought me closer to God. We purchased another mare in 2019 named Izzy (Yella Izabella) along with her 2020 foal in utero. Izzy became the foundation of our breeding program. I didn’t (and still don’t fully) realize what all God had planned for my life, but I know now that Izzy (along with a few other great mares) plays a big role in it. God has a funny way of only letting us see bits and pieces of the big picture. It makes “planning” for your future rather difficult because I’m not sure we’re supposed to really plan it at all. He’s already done that.

In 2023 I graduated from Texas A&M with an animal science degree and have been running Diamond H full time ever since. While our program is still very young and I’m not sure what all God has in store for it, I do believe I am supposed to glorify Him and bring others to know Him through it somehow. He has blessed me with some amazing horses and put this dream on my heart for a reason. While I’m not sure what that reason is quite yet, I am going to do my best to grow this program in a way that honors Him.

In 2024, Mr. Alan Woodbury allowed us to purchase a foal in utero out of the one and only, Rosas Cantina CC. This mare has been a favorite of mine to watch for years, so it is a dream come true to have one of her foals in our barn. ‘Maverick’ hit the ground in March that year and could not have been more perfect in our eyes. He brought a little light during a very tough year for us. His registered name, The Masters Call, comes from the Marty Robbins song, but there is a whole lot more meaning behind it. I definitely recommend a listen! We’re excited to see what all God has in store for Maverick and this little breeding program we have started. Thanks for reading!
